The Blackmagic Streaming Decoder 4K is a professional-grade device designed to receive H.264 or H.265 streams from a Blackmagic Streaming Encoder, ATEM switcher, or Blackmagic camera. It efficiently converts these streams back to SDI and HDMI video formats, making it a versatile tool for high-quality video production. The decoder includes Blackmagic Cloud streaming and a 12G-SDI reference input, which allows for seamless integration with SDI tally, camera control, and talkback functionalities.
With a range of connection options, the device features one SDI reference input, one SDI video output, and one SDI reference output, supporting SDI rates of 1.5G, 3G, 6G, and 12G. It also includes an HDMI 2.0 video output and supports up to 16 channels of embedded audio on 12G-SDI inputs and outputs. The HDMI output provides 8 channels of embedded audio for monitoring purposes.
The streaming capabilities include direct streaming of RTMP and SRT streams, with support for closed captions and timecode over RTMP and SRT streams. The built-in control panel features six buttons, a spin knob control, and a 2.2-inch color display, allowing for intuitive device management. Additionally, the device supports remote camera control, color correction, tally, and talkback, with external control possible via REST API over Ethernet.
