The EX5 is an external calibration sensor designed to work seamlessly with ColorEdge monitors, ensuring accurate color calibration. It is compatible with ColorNavigator 7 and Quick Color Match software, allowing for precise adjustments to color and brightness without any loss during hardware calibration. The sensor connects to your computer via USB and measures various color fields projected onto the monitor to check for any deviations from the target values.
If adjustments are needed, they are made directly in the Look-Up-Table (LUT) of the ColorEdge monitor, ensuring a loss-free calibration process. A new ICC profile is then created, which communicates the current monitor settings to the operating system and color management-capable programs. This profile includes information about the monitor's properties and settings, without any color corrections that could degrade display quality.
The EX5 is compatible with both macOS and Windows operating systems and supports several ColorEdge models, including CS2740, CS2731, CS2400S, and CS2400R. This makes it an essential tool for professionals seeking to maintain the highest standards of color accuracy in their work.
